How to mount partitions - the comfortable way?

Hello Ubuntuers!

I'd like to ask about how to mount my /dev/hdax partitions with
Ubuntu? I mean I've successfully set up the system to mount these
under /mnt/xxxxx but I'd like to see them under Gnome's Computer
location (computer:///).

I think if I would mount them under /media/xxxxx the computer:///
location would handle them too. But as another Linux distro is able to
"see" the partitions if they are mounted under /mnt so I'm asking if
Ubuntu is able to do this too? Maybe I should set up some config
files?
