trying out kubuntu, want to trim some fat

hi guys... i've been running hoary with xfce for a while, and thought
i'd give kde a shot so i apt'd kubuntu-desktop and here i am... i
wanna see if i can optimize it a little bit to trim off some the of
the extra services and stuff that i dont' really need so it'll be a
little more repsonsive on this machine. any hints?
