Hoary, synaptic doesn't manage repos...

Dear all,

since I upgraded from Warty to Hoary, I could not manage repositories from 
synaptic's menu item "Settings / Repositories": all I see is a progress dialog 
"Downloading package information", but it usually last a few seconds, and after 
that I don't see the usual window for changing repositories.

Is that a bug or a feature?

Please note that my system is up to date.
