recommendation for best tv video card?

So, are you saying that for any saa173x card, the software works 'out-
of-the-box' and provides functionality that goes beyond the ordinary
'watch TV and take a recording or snapshot' that, say, xawtv provides
with a bttv card?

It would be helpful if you could name an actual hardware/software
combination.
