recommendation for best tv video card?

OK, which card and software combination works 'out-of-the-box' (i.e.
you just get synaptic to install the package), apart from the basic bttv
stuff, which is quite old technology and which this thread has already
said works? Many people are looking for more than this and it doesn't
seem to work without a great deal of user hassle and/or fairly expert
knowledge.
