I've been following the state of VRML/X3D on Debian GNU/Linux (and,
also, Ubuntu) for about six months. Freewrl appears to be the best
bet at the moment but the version in Debian (and Ubuntu universe) is
very out of date. X3D is the new standard for vrml -- see
http://www.web3d.org/ -- and to my knowledge this is only supported in
the latest version of Freewrl and not at all in "openvrml". I'd be
very interested in working with people who want to see better support
for X3d in Ubuntu and Debian. Please post in this thread or feel free
to email me directly at await @ genetics.med.harvard.edu
Thanks,
