IMO, Ubuntu in no way 'hurts' Debian. On the contrary, to be sure!
Another fact is that nearly all Debian users have been using testing.
The question of 'stability' in the stable distribution is totally moot.
Fossils are 'stabilized' bones, insects, etc..., but I'd rather a
singing bird in a tree than the relief of one cut in half by a rock saw
hanging on my wall. Funny that no-one ever mentions the "parasite"
Debian-based distros like Xandros and Linspire. Could it be that Debian
honchos are silent when funding is involved? If Ubuntu was a totally
commercial distribution, would this question have been 'brought up'? I
don't think so.
