iMac: installing to a secondary Firewire drive?

Hey, has anyone had any success? I got a Aluslim firewire drive with
Oxford 911 firewirebridge but the (k)ubuntu install cd for ppc doesn't
show the fw drive at the partition stage of the install.

If there is any activity on this I want to know and I am happy to help
if there is a group out here of mac users who need this. Yes, we know
all about YDL on the ipod, IBM does it too.. the question is HOW... and
how could this be integrated as standard functionality/option for ppc
(k)ubuntu....
