ext3 partition mounted to share

hi people

I have installed ubuntu on /dev/hda1 and I have installed kubuntu
on /dev/hda3.

I created an ext3 partition on /dev/hda2 that I wanted to share between
the two.

I am having problems with write permissions when I mount it
in /etc/fstab.

Here is what I have already tried and failed with ...

/dev/hda2 /media/share ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1

/dev/hda2 /media/share ext3 users,auto,rw 0 1

I want the share partition to be read and writable by anyone in the
group 'users' (gid=100).

I have setup /media/share to ...

chown root.users /media/share
chmod 775 /media/share

Does anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong?

thanks

pantz
