it gives you the full list of all the Ubuntu mailing lists, and I can
see a kubuntu-users list. Looking at their archive, it's active, so go
join and say hello ;o)

I burnt a Kubuntu Live CD recently and spend 10 minutes playing with it.
ISTR that when I logged in, I was presented with a wizrd to configure
the desktop, and I think it asked me to chose the level of eye-candy
that I wanted. Presumably, if you set it to a low value, the giant
tool-tips may go away ?
