Dual boot question?

Since i am still a newbie to Linux, even though i have been dabbling with 
it for about a year, resources like this are invaluable to me. I thank 
everyone here. Those who ask the questions and those who answer them. I 
have learned a fair amount just from reading the threads.

Now for my question. I know it is possible to dual boot. But is it 
possible to dual boot from 2 different drives (both IDE, internal)? I 
currently have 1 drive and if this is possible i am going to buy a second 
drive just for Ubuntu.
