quickly... check into the lost+found dir at the mountpoint of that partition

I remember midnight commander (package mc) had an undelete feature, but 
can't find it again.

make a copy of that partition and try the recover or e2undel packages 
(probably some are better but I remember these two).

Run from a live cd so you make no or the fewest write operations to that 
partition, until you're done.
