Is this a low speed for my CPU???

Hi:

I have an Acer Aspire 1350 and ive installed Ubuntu 5.04 RC.
Everything runs fine but a bit slower than i expected.

I added the Frequency Monitor to my gnome panel and ive seen that my
CPU is always between 382Mhz and 796Mhz.... and i have an AMD XP 2000+
¿?

If i go to the Device Manager i can see under Computer/Bios/Processor
these 2 values:
bios.current_speed - 1666Mhz
bios.max_speed - 1000Mhz

But if i go into Computer/Processor i have this:
linux.procfs.cpuinfo.cpu_mhz 796.231

I tried this on a console: "dmesg | grep powernow" and i got:

powernow: PowerNOW! Technology present. Can scale: frequency and voltage.
powernow: No PST tables match this cpuid (0x781)
powernow: This is indicative of a broken BIOS.
powernow: Trying ACPI perflib
powernow: Minimun speed 382Mhz. Maximun speed 796Mhz.

Is this as it should be or is there something wrong (i think there is
something wrong but im a noob in linux).

Thanks
