nautilus-cd-burner repeatedly creates coasters while cdrecordworks perfectly

Your problem looks like the same problem reported in bug 2751:

I gave up on nautilus-cd-burner and I use k3b.  So far, the md5sums
of the disks created with k3b always match the original ISO file.
