Keyboard shortcuts half working

Hi Folks,

I'm having interesting problems with my keyboard shortcuts.  I've set up
my keyboard with the following options:

Meta is mapped to the Win-keys

Then if I go to 'keyboard shortcuts' under the Computer / Desktop
Preferences menu, I find that only half the shortcuts work!  For
example:  If I set the 'Show the panel run application dialogue' to
<Mod4>r (i.e. <Win>r) that works fine.  But if I set 'E-mail' to
<Mod4>e, that doesn't work; 'Search' to <Mod4>s doesn't work either!  I
assume this is a problem with the basic metacity/gnome configuration.

Before anyone asks, I have set up my preferred email client &c in
'Preferred Applications'.  Also I'm aware of the bug #1389 
(https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1389) but this doesn't seem
to cover this problem.
