Yes, something along these lines.  Terms with good recognition are:

i386: "IBM compatible", "PC", "Windows", "Pentium", "Athlon"
powerpc: "Apple", "Macintosh", "PowerBook", "iBook"
amd64: "Athlon64" (not much else yet, it seems...)
