The README.Debian in the kernel source tarball in package linux-
source- has a mistook.

It says:

If you wish to create a kernel image Debian package, e.g.:
please read /usr/share/doc/kernel-source- file and
follow directions.

The directory is actually /usr/share/doc/linux-source-
