beginner with 3 problems

I would start by going into Computer --> System Configuration -->
Networking. You should see a list of devices in there. Do you see your
wireless card? If not, hit ADD and try using the Wizard. Worked for
me.

To enable universe, just uncomment the second group of sources as the
file sources.list explains in the comments.

I think what you want to type is "sudo apt-get update" and then when
it is done, type "sudo apt-get install mono"
