prism54 wireless configuration

I didn't know how to respond to your message because I found it in the
archive list, and I am new to these lists anyway.
After reading this Prism54-on-Debian documentation:

I think you want to put the firmware in either
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/ or /usr/local/lib/firmware/.  I believe you
said you put it in /usr/hotplug/firmware.  I have an SMC-2802W PrismGT
card and had the same experience as you.  After I copied the firmware
to the right directory (and configure /etc/network/interfaces),
everything worked fine.
