Hi,

I'm trying to get this wizzy new boot logo to work, and thought I might
try X on the fb driver for my chipset but I'm having problems. I added
the following to my menu.lst for grub given the instructions in the
kernel docs:

kernel          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.8.1-2-386 root=/dev/hda2 ro
video=i810fb:vram:8,xres:1024,yres:768,bpp:24,hsync1:28,hsync2:49,vsync1:43,vsync2:72,accel,mttr quiet splash

It appeared that the module wasn't loading so I added this
to /etc/mkinitrd.

i810fb

thinking it might be an issue and remade the image. Still no success.

I checked /dev and there are no fb* entries, but MAKEDEV fb doesn't seem
to do the necessary magic.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks guys and gals, quite impressed so far otherwise, prism54 wireless
works fine :-)

regards,

Dan.
