Probably have the same issue I do. Open up your /etc/X11/XF86Config as
root and remove all references to "Generic Mouse" and it's
configuration info. The installer apparently puts two entries into
XF86Config, an entry for /dev/psaux and an entry for /dev/input/mice
(which it calls "Configured Mouse".

Once you remove the "Generic Mouse" entry, the weird double click and
superfast movement will go away. I believe this has been mentioned in
the list before.
