Sound juicer ripping to mp3

What package(s) do I need to install to get sound juicer to rip to mp3?
I have already installed gstreamer0.8-mad from universe to get mp3s
playing, but I guess I need lame or some derivative to encode mp3s. I
cant find anything in the archive.

Unfortunately I cannot use ogg vorbis or flac, as the ripping is to load
onto a USB mp3 player.

If I need to install something outside the package manager, what is
sound juicer looking for? Just an executable (lame) in a bin directory,
or does it want a shared library?
