Hi!

I have an iBook G4, so slightly different hardware, but most of my
experiences should apply to you as well.

Works out of the box in Ubuntu (pbbuttonsd).

Does probably not work; might be fixed in Hoary

Should work out of the box, for both usb-storage and gphoto2 cameras.

We added a bunch of additional drivers to the standard kernel. E. g.
my Prism2 WiFi card (NetGear MA-111) works fine with the Ubuntu
standard kernel.

Hmm, after I properly configured Debian, I got about the same lifetime
in both systems.

It worked for me in sid after I installed pbbuttonsd. Default in
Ubuntu.

Automatic mounting of hotpluggable drives is not supported in KDE
right now. However, kernel drivers should be DE agnostic and work with
every window manager.

Don't know, my iBook does not have DVI.

Good luck!
