needed help with a lpt scanner

I have an old scanner which uses my lpt port. It is Genius Colour Page
Vivid Pro II. Under WinBloze it runs with a special driver which
interprets the signals from the pc to the printer. Now, how can i make
it work with ubuntu?
Tried google, found no solution there. If anyone is familiar with the
situation i will be most grateful for the help, since now i have to
reboot into winBloze everytime i need to scan something.
