modem port on laptop

i would recommend the same. i have ethernet connections when i am at
work, while at home some times back i have no DSL, so i am totally
relying on dial up. my solution at the end was to dig out my good old
USR 56k external modem. and i have nice dial up connection.

a PCMCIA card modem that is compatible would be the best. i dont know
much about USB modems, but i would think a little reading would do you
good.
