gedit not able to save - character encoding problem

yes, the error comes up in gedit
when i try to save the text i copy and then paste
from the archive found on the mentioned url into
a file i open in gedit on my computer.
there may be two problems involved:
the first is there may be incompatible characters
in the text that you offer for download (i used the compressed one)
and the fact that gedit offers no way to save the data.
