Live RC2, Thinkpad 390X problems

317 is 791 in hex so it appears your setting is being ignored.  Play 
with adding some dodgy values to see if any value is accepted and 
attemped.  If no change you make here effects the dmesg result you might 
have found a bug.  Filing a bugreport would be necesary here.
