Mounting Sony CD/DVD drive?

I've got a SonyDRX-510UL DVD/CD drive hooked up to my computer via
USB. The computer also has a built-in CD drive.

I'm trying to install UT 2004 off the sony drive (the built in one
won't work). Ubuntu sees the Sony drive (it's listed in device
manager) and will even open a "CD Creator" window on my desktop.

However, I can't access the contents of a CD in that drive. And
there's no icon for it in the disks folder.

How can I access that contents of a CD on that drive? It looks like
Ubuntu is mounting it since it's opening the CD Creator window but I
can't quite figure out how I get it to work like the built-in CD
drive.
