It is geared towards Japanese, but UIM suppports various Chinese input
methods as well. You can ignore everything about Anthy, of course, since
that is needed only for Japanese.
You find UIM in Universe, and SCIM (which is also there) is supposed to
work fine with it, though I have never tried.
