Someone else may recognise these symptoms straight off, in which case
they may be able to give more immediate help. In case they don't though,
perhaps you could give a little more detail? If I understand correctly,
you have a printer on a Windows box and you're trying to use it from
Ubuntu. Is this correct?

If so, can you tell us which version of Windows (exactly!) - it can make
a difference - for example Windows XP home and Pro have some differences
in file and printer sharing.

Also - what credentials did you use (username, password etc.) if any
when you set up the printer on Ubuntu?

Also - have you tried sharing a folder on the Windows box and accessing
it froim Ubuntu? If so, did this work? May give us some clues as to the
level at which the problem lies.

Cheers
