Java Runtime and Java Plugins for Mozilla (Firefox)

I searched this morning for a how to on installing the JRE and the Java 
plugin for Firefox and did not find anything on the ubuntu site, but did 
find something that is unbuntuforums site (although it is now dated).

Using the dated information, I have the runtime running and the plugin 
working as well, so my question is, is there something in the wiki/how 
to or what have you on the official ubuntu site? If so where is it and 
how does one go about finding this stuff?

If there is not one there, then I will add one as I have detailed 
instructions now that work.
