Community response of new ubuntu artwork

On a purely subjective level, I love the (controversial) wallpaper and the GDM theme. I don't see them as racy, and as I mentioned in a different thread in the Forum, my mother likes them also.

What initially drew me to Ubuntu -- and I don't know if I should be embarassed about this or not -- was the color scheme (described by someone above as being 'muddy brown'). Finally! A default theme which doesn't assault my eyes with MS blue, Apple shiny colors, or candy-apple-green! Human is pleasant to the eyes, and the only gripe that I have is that the gtk colorations are still blue-based. I'll live.

Back on topic:

I like the art pictures... more than I would've expected if someone were to describe them to me. But this is my home computer, and I would definitely hesitate to put this on a computer at school or for an employer. Even having the pictures on the hard drive could be potentially problematic. This fact seems silly to me, but so do a lot of other cultural biases. This is the first time that I've gone out of my way to download the default artwork (or, in this case, semi-default artwork) to any desktop environment (since the first time I had my own computer during the win95 days), much less keep it on my system.

My suggestion -- largely reinforcing some previous suggestions -- would be to have a package for default (and safe) artwork as well as a separate package for the artistic pictures. (For example: ubuntu-artwork and ubuntu-calendar-artwork)
