nxclient for ubuntu

I'm trying to use nxclient on ubuntu, and I've used the .deb and the
statically compiled version but I get this error message with both;

nxclient: error while loading shared libraries:
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory

I've installed libstdc++ but this doesn't seem to have this .so. Is it
possible to run nxclient on Ubuntu?
