As far as I have been able to gauge the commentary so far, the desktop
background is no problem at all, as you need to actively select it to
get it. Very few people have had anything negative to say about the GDM
(login) theme - they are very clearly wearing clothes, and people seem
to feel the image is "proper" enough to pass the Company Standard test.
I would have no problem with that image here (Japan) in a company
setting myself.

I think a lot of the furor really is about the splash screen, which is
on by default, and is a little more daring than the login screen. In a
corporate setting, of course (especially if you are a semi-outsider like
a consultant), any level of "daring" above absolute zero is a no-no.

My take is pretty much that change the splash to something a little more
"proper", and we're really all set. Of course, I say this as someone who
enthusiastically is using the theme on my own machine, as I really like
it.

And whatever happens, _please_ do not fritter away the great monthly
calendar picture idea! It is an active choice by the user to enable it,
so please continue it. I am already well and truly looking forward to
see what the November image will be.
