Is there anything else to find out what is going on?

Most of my stuff in my current system is in the kernel due to a friend
setting up my first debian install nearly a year ago, keept that
.config all this time through several reinstalls :) So I only have
three modules loaded in debian, sd_mod, usb-storage and nvidia, I
believe those =y means it's in the kernel.

Just to clarify what has been cut from this is that sound did work,
only it repeated the same 2 seconds over and over again. I wonder if
this is related to the possible IRQ problem? Just a guess hehe.

I must sound so danged silly, I can remember some stuff when I am
reminded heh, I can remember lp being loaded, not sure about the
parport modules, I've written this down to try unloading it next time.
And to try with pci=noacpi perhaps? (Just from a skim of the bug page)
This is no laptop though.
