Be fair - many of the developers have joined in the debate. However, 
Mark Shuttleworth is it appears biding his time and (apart from one 
comment) watching the debate (with interest, I'm sure!). We do not (yet) 
have any official word from Canonical - that's true - but let's be glad 
that they are not trying (as far as we can tell) to "muzzle" the developers.
