This is not the problem. After doing lots of tests, I found out that
evolution isn't able to make an smtp connection to any host after my ppp
gateway. I found this by changing the smtp IP addr in the "Evolution
Account Editor" and then clicking on "Check for supported types". If the
smtp host is before my ppp gateway, evolution connects and gets the
supported types, but if the host is after the gateway, it keeps trying
until timeout. I also tried disabling my stateful firewall, but of
course, nothing changed.
It's more weird cause evolution can get all my mail via IMAP from
servers after my gateway, but can't connect to any smtp host after my
gateway.
For me, this is looking like I've made something really evil, but
whatever I've done, broke only evolution, cause everything else is
working as before. The only coincidence is that evolution had just been
upgraded to version 2.0.2.
Anyone can point me to another possible source of my problems?
