Re-mastering CD to change theme? (was: what a reaction!)

Hello Colin

In the "what a reaction" thread on the mailing list you wrote:

If I understand correctly, the images under discussion will remain for
the GDM background and splash screen?

If this is the case the only way I'll ever be able to distribute Ubuntu
CDs is if I re-master the CDs with substitute images. Will this be
possible/permitted? I'd like to promote it - I'm an independent computer
consultant who recently made the move to Linux myself and believe my
clients could benefit from it.

If for some reason the re-mastering can't be done, I'm afraid I'm going
to have to switch distro - and that would be a shame because this is the
most user-friendly free distro (possibly the most user friendly full
stop) I've seen. However, in the circles in which I move I will
absolutely not be able to distribute it as it is. Nudity (whether
directly visible or not) as on the Gnome splash screen will not be
acceptable to most of the people I work with.

I'd like an assurance that at a minimum re-mastering will be an option
(and preferably that the theme will be changed) - otherwise I will be
(reluctantly) leaving the list and the distro, as I will not be able to
promote it.

I realise that you may not be the person to answer this - if not can you
point me to someone who can?

Regards
