Several that I know of:

gnome-panel-screenshot - Not sure how to actually use that though.  I
believe it only does the full screen.

gimp - Open The Gimp then do "File->Acquire->Screen shot".  This is by
far the best method as you have lots of file types you can save as.
Plus it does whole screen or per window.

ksnapshot - Also useful if you don't mind using a KDE app.  Does per
window and delayed, etc.
