Random erros closing a laptop

I don't think shutting the lid will suspend the system btw - it blanks
the screen and locks it. I have no idea if this is safe on all laptops
(I know the 8600 has one vent that gets blocked when the screen is
closed - no idea if that causes thermal problems or not).
