But, from the responses on the list, it appears that the intended future
user base doesn't include anyone in business, academia and many
non-western countries. That's a fairly large chunk of potential users
they're missing out on. The point is, the default settings should be as
non-offensive as possible - provide alternatives, sure, but try not to
piss off your users before they even log in.
For those wanting to change, gTweakui is a good tool to fiddle with
gconf settings without having to use gconf-editor, by the way
(http://http://gtweakui.sourceforge.net/).
