Shutdown hangs at: "ACPI_power_off_called".

Boot hangs up when I add acpi=off. Forgotten, I had tried that a few
days ago, the symptoms are the same... I'm looking at a reinstall I'm
afraid; this has been going on for too long. It's just a nagging issue,
other wise has no effect on the operation that I can tell.
