How do I use APM? I added apm to '/etc/modules, it still won't shut
down; does upper or lower case matter? 

How do I deactivate ACPI?

I'm not seeing much of the same problem with desktops; should I try a
reinstall... as much as I'd rather not, this is going on for some time.
