Speedtouch

I haven't written for a while when i did I asked about the simplest way of getting the Speedtouch USB silver modem to work on Ubuntu.  I kind gentleman suggested I try the speedtouch package on Universe and so I have done. 
It is indeed very simple and the readme pretty much explains everything.  It seems to work when I boot up, with the lights flashing, however once it has loaded I still have to run 'pppd call adsl updetach' to get it to finally connect.  
Is there a way of getting it to do this for me on boot?? Maybe editing the hotplug script??
