Sounds like 'dselect update' is required. This is basically the result
of an old disagreement between the respective authors of dpkg and apt,
as far as I can tell. It wouldn't be that hard for 'apt-get update' to
update /var/lib/dpkg/available while it's at it ...

The search form has a component selector.
