Can't print properly -- Epson Stylus C62

I've experienced similar problems trying to get an Epson C80 to work with
ubuntu, works great with cups in Fedora.  I filed a bug report
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1938

Please file a bug report or add a comment to bug #1938.  I very much like ubuntu
but the printing situation needs improvement.
