trying installation on a all in one lcd pc with sis chipset, sis video,
sis audio motherboard sis 5530 . the pc works with mandrake 10 and 10.1
first problem. I must absolutely not activate pcmcia recognition
because it hangs computer on boot. on mandrake I can set services
graphically- how to tell ubuntu to do the same at first reboot?

second problem (maybe depending from pcmcia service maybe not) at firts
reboot it stops at "usb.rc usb1-1 timeout on epoin". no way to go on.
can you please tell me if there is something I can do apart from using
mandrake?
my grub has a noapic nolapic acpi=off nopcmcia option . they work on
mandrake's lilo so I can boot but maybe not in ubuntu'S grub...
please help. I reported the bug in ubuntuzilla but no reply

I want to try ubuntu because on another computer it is a great system.
really great one
