HP deskjet printdriver problem

How did you install the .ppd file?  This file is distributed with Ubuntu by
default, so you should not have needed to install anything.

I only see two cases where this error can occur, and both of them seem to
indicate a corrupt .ppd file.  The file shipped with Ubuntu seems fine,
however.
