I thought that may be it, but apt isn't showing me new kernels. It's
quite likely I'm doing something wrong though. I've done apt-get update,
and doing this:

root at ubuntu:~ # apt-cache search linux-image
linux-image-2.6-386 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on 386.
linux-image-2.6-686 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV.
linux-image-2.6-686-smp - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV SMP.
linux-image-2.6-k7 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on AMD K7.
linux-image-2.6-k7-smp - Linux kernel image for version 2.6 on AMD K7 SMP.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-386 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on 386.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-686 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-686-smp - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV SMP.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-k7 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on AMD K7.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-3-k7-smp - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on AMD K7 SMP.
linux-image-386 - Linux kernel image on 386.
linux-image-686 - Linux kernel image on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV.
linux-image-686-smp - Linux kernel image on PPro/Celeron/PII/PIII/PIV SMP.
linux-image-k7 - Linux kernel image on AMD K7.
linux-image-k7-smp - Linux kernel image on AMD K7 SMP.
linux-tree-2.6.8.1 - Linux kernel tree for building prepackaged Debian kernel images
linux-image-2.6.8.1-1-386 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on 386.
linux-image-2.6.8.1-2-k7 - Linux kernel image for version 2.6.8.1 on AMD K7.

Suggests that I'm already running the newest kernel available
(2.6.8.1-3-k7). Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,

James.
