I'll have to apologise as I prefer using apt from the command line ...

Can you post the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list, any error messages that come
from running 'sudo apt-get update' and the output from 'sudo apt-get install
gnucash'.

If you're unfamiliar with the command prompt, you may like to know that you can
highlight the contents of the terminal window using the left-mouse button and
then paste what is highlighted by pressing the middle mouse button (often the
scroll wheel or both the left and right together).

It seems funny that your getting the error (that you posted a day or two ago) as
if you browse http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gnucash/ there
are debs for i386 and AMB64. Hmm, I wonder if that means that there is a
problem if you're running a Mac (powerpc)?
